Since opening in 2018 we have found forever homes for over 2500 cats and kittens. On average we care for 40 adult cats and 20-30 kittens at a time. We are a small rescue with a small, amazing team, and every Superbowl box sold will go directly to the care of our cats. In the last few months alone we have taken in 7 cats/kittens with FIP, and we were able to successfully treat them and find them homes. We love the seniors, medical cases, and the underdogs, and we will always advocate for them however we can.

First of all look at the hair on this girl. She’s the next picture I bring to my hair appointment as inspo 😍💇🏽‍♀️

Second of all this beauty queen was put in a sanctuary, which may sound nice at first, but it’s really not the best place for a friendly cat. Maybe she didn’t warm up fast enough for whoever placed her there, but had they just taken a little time to get her over the shy stage and shown her some love, she never would have ended up there. Sanctuaries are great for cats who really want nothing to do with human touch or being indoors. It’s not a place you send a cat like Ivy.

Ivy is about 8-10 years old and was seen looking sad and lonely in the sanctuary. She seemed lost and defeated as she was missing what she loves the most- human love. This princess is absolutely thriving here and it’s only been a few days.

Ivy is a perfect cat. She would do amazing in any home. I’m thankful she was rescued from being unhappy.

These senior sisters are too much. I was told they were shy when I agreed to take them, but they have been social butterflies!!!! They are not a bonded pair but if you are looking for 2 precious ladies, they wouldn’t mind a home together. Tiger and Charlie are 11 years old, lost their owner last year, and are waiting for a fresh start. They both do well with everyone and LOVE affection 🩷🩷

NELLY!!!!! This girl came from the shelter after being found outside a few months ago. The shelter vets determined she had CH/neuro imbalance disorder, and we scooped her perfect self right up. We noticed some strange behaviors lately which seemed like seizure activity. Not the type that most people picture when they hear the word seizure, but she gets stiff or limp, loses control of herself, and her eyes get very big and focused. She usually sleeps for hours after these episodes which is also common with seizure.

Tonight was Nelly’s vet appointment, she had bloodwork done to rule out other issues but if everything comes out normal, she will start on seizure medication. When I took her home I was videoing her adorable little walk, and she had a seizure! I’m glad I was able to get it on video to show the vet next time.

Nelly is ok, sleeping it off and hanging out with her new friends tonight. This girl is truly perfect. Sure she’s deaf, has a little wobble to her, and has seizures here and there, but her pure little soul is just so special. If you’ve visited us lately you know this girl because all she wants is love.

Breakfast is everyone’s favorite meal and they wait so patiently all night for it!!! Each cat has their spot in the cafe and we make sure they have their meals served at that spot!

People tend to think the back room is where the scared cats hangout, but that isn’t always the case. Sometimes it is, but many hidden gems can be found back here. The bathroom too! Sometimes new cats find the bathroom to feel safe, so they start their journey in there. The back room crew today is AMAZING. Each one is full of love and by visiting them back there, you help them realize they’re safe and give them the ok to come out and play!

The Muppet Babies trio is really cute!!! It took the foster, Amelia, A LOT to separate from them but she knows the drill. They came last night and they’re absolutely adorable and SUPER sweet. These 5 month old kittens thrive in every situation but must go to a home with other cats. Some cats and kittens can happily live as an only cat but since birth this litter has been surrounded by their siblings and other foster cats and they really love them all.

Introducing Baby Animal (black), Miss Piggy (black and white), and Fozzie Bear (tabby and white). I love them so much already and I only met them for 15 minutes. They’ll be in the Kitten Lounge waiting for love.

I love when we get new seniors, it’s like Christmas but 50,000,000 times better and more satisfying. Welcome Tiger and Charlie. They lost their mom and spent some time in the shelter, until a foster took them out. I know everyone wants to say “keep them together, they need each other”, but in foster they barely acknowledged one another. Just because cats come from the same home doesn’t always mean they’re bonded or need to stay together. When they’re truly bonded, we will never split them up, but Tiger and Charlie don’t seem to be. We will monitor them, as today is only day 1.

These girls are both about 11 years old and as sweet as can be. They do well with other cats and they do well alone. No seniors should be bounced around like this, and I hope they find homes soon, and that it’s their last stop. Tiger and Charlie LOVE affection and we are so glad to have them here.

For the past 2 years, since becoming our own rescue, the Super Bowl Boxes have been one of our only fundraisers. Last year’s boxes allowed us to spay/neuter/vaccinate over 100 kittens. It also allowed us to take in the cats who need us the most like Snowglobe, an FIV+ senior who needed his eye removed, Tilly a little blind baby who also needed an eye removal, and multiple moms and their babies. Because of you, we are able to help seniors like Manny and so many others, who truly need a safe place to land, and a chance at a forever family.

Happy Monday from Cat Island. They’re on vacation until tomorrow at 11am and they’re enjoying every second!! Whoever gave us this palm tree made everyone really happy!! 🌴

I want to say we’ve had some really special adoptions lately, but the truth is all adoptions are special. Every single one of these cats and kittens comes from a place they needed rescue from. Every single one deserved better, and now they have it. Some of these cats went through hell prior to coming to us, whether it be being born outside in the cold with little to no resources, living months in a shelter surrounded by barking dogs and overworked staff with little time to dedicate to them, or a home they couldn’t remain in due to death, eviction, or simple carelessness. Each cat has a story and they have all just begun new lives that we hope is their best!

We love and appreciate our adopters so much. Included in these adoptions are multiple pairs, a trio, many FIV+ cats, and seniors! We are so thankful 🩷

Baby Simon was so nervous about his new surroundings that he hid in the most difficult place to find and retrieve him from! He had quite the rescue mission yesterday but thanks to Angela’s persistence and Simon being such a sweet, cooperative boy, he’s safe and sound.

Simon is about 8 months old and the most gentle little soul ever. Our mission is to help him build his confidence so he can be the best Simon he can be! He loves to be held and will come around in no time ❤️

This boy is so sweet!!! Both tea brothers are but this is Chai Spice’s spotlight! He chills all day cozy in a bed but if you pick him up and give him a lap and love he’s so happy and appreciative. Chai is passive at the moment, but will roll all around and beg for belly rubs the second you snuggle him. He does great with other cats and would do well in any loving home 🫖❤️

We heard there were some babies who needed us at the shelter so here they are!! We had some space in the Kitten Lounge and we were told they were ready to party!!! After a day or 2 of unwinding they will be more comfortable and ready to find their forever homes 🩷

This cat is so misunderstood and under appreciated bc she’s VERY easily overstimulated and edgy (SAME), but when we are alone it’s strictly love making. She needs one person, or a few, but she needs a lot of love and affection. Friday is a 9 year old polydactyl lady who lives for boxes of any type, shape, and size. She makes us laugh so much all day but she’s stressed here and needs a nice peaceful home to call her own. I’d bet my life that whoever adopts her, adopts the best friend they’ll ever have, because once she loves you, she doesn’t leave your side. Give her a chance.

Shadow has gotten over her sadness for the most part, but she deserves more than our office with a few minutes of love per day. She’s 11 years old was so terribly depressed when she lost her mom. She was left outside if a vets office with a note asking for them to take care of her. She didn’t deserve this, but I’m glad she ended up with us.

Shadow LOVES affection and would do best with someone who is home a lot. She’s so low maintenance, does well with other animals, and needs a home to spend her golden years. If you are interested in adopting or forever fostering her, stop by or send us a message. I’d do anything for her to be happy in a home!

We have 2 Yogas this month coming up. Sunday January 11 in the Cat Cafe and Sunday January 25 in the Kitten Lounge, both at 10am. This is a great way to unwind and start your week! This duo is adorable. They’re baby faced 7 month old brothers who are slowly coming out of their shells and enjoying the cafe. They’re confused as to why they were outside alone eating out of cans, and then in a cage, then at a vet, and now in a the cafe with lots of friends and people wanting to kiss them all day!!!!

Earl Grey and Chai Spice are perfect angels. We can’t wait to help them become more confident and realize how safe and loved they are!!

There’s so much love in the Cat Cafe but the Kitten Lounge?! Everyone’s madly in love with eachother. They aren’t even comforting eachother due to fear, they’re just bursting with love it’s adorable. It’s gonna be hard to get 12 kittens adopted out together but hey we’ll try 😆

We’ve struck gold!!!!! We received this girl yesterday after responding to a plea for help on Facebook and she’s absolutely perfect. This tiny little calico princess is about 7 months old and wants nothing but love. She was held all day by different people and she loved it 🥹 She tested negative for FELV/FIV, her 💩 is perfect, she’s the cleanest little angel, and that’s why we named her Angel 🩷

Angel is in the Kitten Lounge and has already made some friends. She will be spayed this week and ready for adoption! I can’t even imagine her outside fending for herself in the freezing cold 😩 I’m so glad she was saved.

Sunshine left this earth last night at 7pm. She stopped eating for 2 days, which she’s never even thought of doing even on her worst day. She passed incredibly peacefully and surrounded by her family. I’m so happy we took her and got to show her what love was, and how it felt to have a family, endless snacks, and unconditional love. She would sit on the bed and wait for me to watch shows with her. She really turned out amazing. That’s what love does.

We decided that Mama Panera will forever hide run and hide from us, and Mama Edamommy will continue to rot away miserable in the back room unless we do something differently. Welcome to the Mom’s Corner, located in the less chaotic Kitten Lounge. Both of these ladies did an amazing job birthing and raising their kittens, and while they’re thrilled that their babies all got amazing forever homes, it’s their turn. I’m weak when it comes to releasing cats back outside without giving socialization a real effort, so here we go.

If you would like to come visit the mamas, just come by and we will provide the Squeeze Ups, and whatever else they seem to find comfort in. Cages suck but they’re incredibly helpful to assist in socializing cats who need a little more time to feel safe.

We got a call that someone was threatening to dump these 2 brothers outside in the cold today. They’re only about 7 months old and born in their yard over the summer. They’re a little nervous but SO gentle and nice!! They aren’t neutered or vetted yet but we will get that done ASAP so they can meet you and their new roommates. Welcome Tea Brothers, Earl Grey & Chai ❤️ We love you already.

You have to meet Jenna. We started her in the Kitten Lounge despite her giving major senior cat vibes when we got her. She’s barely a year old and that’s confirmed since she’s been in the shelter for most of her life. Jenna was deathly ill from panleukopenia for months, in isolation, hence all 4 of her legs being shaved from IVs and blood draws. After arriving to us she got a horrible case of oral thrush from being on months of antibiotics, but that didn’t stop her from craving love and stealing everyone’s food.

Welcome perfect princess, Jenna. She’s ailment free, happier than ever, incredibly loving, and ready for a forever home! Whoever gets lucky enough to adopt her will be able to watch her grow into an even more perfect girl than she already is. She’s pure love 🩷

Sad lady Shadow has been getting so much love from visitors and staff all weekend. Having her own little area to decompress and grieve has done wonders for her. Tonight Caitlin sat with her and she was SO HAPPY. All Shadow needs is this. Someone who’s home a lot who will watch shows with her, share the couch, and provide all of the love she needs and deserves. She’s not a high maintenance lady at all. She knew one person her whole life and she lost her. It’s time for her next chapter and golden years 🌟💛

Baby Clementine is THRIVING!!!! She went from 2.14 lbs to 2.47 in 7 days! She’s on week 2 of FIP treatment and doing so so well! We are happy to have her and watch her grow 🌱

This girl is AMAZING!!!! We took Nelly from a shelter a couple of weeks ago and she’s absolutely perfect. She’s said to have a very mild form of CH (Cerebellar Hypoplasia) and is very slightly wobbly. She’s also deaf! Nelly is about 6 months old, as snuggly as she is playful and would make any home, happier. Sometimes Nelly just sits and stares deep into your soul and it’s hard not to fall madly in love with her. Nelly is in the Kitten Lounge currently, and marches to the beat of her own drum. She would do well with other pets or on her own, and doesn’t have any special needs besides the need to be deeply loved 🩷

We often have requests for specific breeds of cats, and I’d like to announce that we have them!!! We have the most special breeds of cats and kittens and we always will! There’s nothing better than cats who need a little extra love, or cats who have gotten over physical and emotional hurdles. We truly have an incredible group right now ❤️ but then again, don’t we always?

Who’s bangs are better? Crumpet (left) or Dumpling (right). Both of their moms cut their hair for Christmas pictures and both went too short in the bang department……..but they look cute anyway and it’ll grow back.

This is new sad senior Shadow 🩷 We took her from the shelter because she was declining, not eating, kept getting upper respiratory infections, and was just plain miserable. Fast forward 2 weeks and she’s still sad, barely eating, and withdrawn. She stays on a cat tree in the back room all day and night.

Shadow was left with a note (see video) outside a vets office in a carrier, after her mom passed away. She lost her whole world. Shadow’s bloodwork and vet exam are normal which is the worst part, because these physical symptoms are pure sadness. Today I decided to cozy up the office and make an apartment for her to start new. She perked up SO MUCH!! She checked out every single inch, let me groom her, and purred for the rest of the day. The shelter and cafe were too much for her, at least right now.

Seeing Shadow finally HAPPY was the highlight of my week. I’ve been so worried but after seeing such an immediate change in her today, I know she will be ok. Come visit this angel and let’s continue to lift her spirits so she can find a new home and thrive 🥹

🍊🧡Baby Clementine was kind of scary when we took her in. Incredibly skinny, not active, no interest in food. Her and her siblings had been spayed and neutered a few weeks ago and Clementine was failing to thrive ever since. She kept spiking fevers and was losing weight. We have more experience with FIP than we ever wanted to have, but this knowledge is literally saving lives this year, and baby Clementine is one of them.

Last week we were uncertain of Clementine’s fate. This week we just know she’s gonna be ok!!!! Love and FIP medications are truly the best combo for those failing to thrive 🎄 I’m thankful for the experience we have and love to be able to help these babies!! Keep Clementine in your thoughts as she isn’t fully over the hump but we think she will be ok ❤️🥹

You know me and kittens……I’ll take a senior any day. But Sugar Pie?! She’s PURE LOVE. Whoever gets her is so incredibly lucky. She purrs and kneads 24/7 and has taken so many naps on me this weekend. She’s perfect. She just needs to slow the heck down when food comes out. If anyone really special is looking for a ball of absolute love to join their family, let me know. She’s coming back with me today to play with her brother and friends. She’s really great 🥹😩❤️

A rollercoaster Monday 🎢 Sadly Stormy, our senior who was presumed to be possibly diabetic, had a lot more going on with her than the vets realized. She spent from Saturday to today in the ER with what was initially thought to be pancreatitis, but she ended up declining quickly and her quality of life was diminished. She came from a horrific home and her history is unknown. By the time I arrived to be with her today she was having trouble breathing on her own, and we helped her cross over peacefully 💔🌈 This was not the ending we had hoped for. Stormy was a true queen and we loved her so much.

Baby Sugar Pie who had been having difficulty eating and swallowing has had not one single issue since Saturday. I even went as far to allow her to drink water and a hydration packet which she had no issues with. She will be monitored closely and given small meals in a slow feeder. She seems to eat VERY fast and if that’s her only issue, we can work on that.

Poe had sedated X-rays today of his problem leg. When he walks his one knee pops out a bit (luxating patella). Usually with this condition the knee pops itself back in on its own without anyone even noticing, but this knee is stubborn. Luckily Poe moves around great and does not show signs of pain so he has been prescribed a daily joint supplement in hopes that surgery is never needed. Orthopedic surgery for animals tends to be a nightmare in our experience and the pain outweighs any benefits so we will watch for any signs of worsening.

This was an exhausting Monday filled with more emotions than usual. Come visit this week and give our babies some love ❤️ We appreciate you!

This poor senior angel is confused and sad. Ozzy Girl’s family member walked in with her on Friday and as much as I wanted to say no, it wasn’t possible. The next move was euthanasia. She’s only 11 years old, just lost her mom who was her best friend, and the rest of the family couldn’t be bothered with her. She just had bloodwork and updated vaccines and all is well. She just desperately needs a new best friend before her sadness starts effecting her health. She’s in our office for right now to give her a space of her own to decompress, but when she sees us she’s instantly happy.

Ozzie LOVES affection and needs a real home. Often times when a senior loses the only home they know, their health begins to decline from stress and we really don’t want that for her. If anyone is looking to adopt or even forever foster this senior girl, please reach out. She doesn’t deserve to be alone for the holidays or for any longer than she already has 💔

Can you help us find Oz a new forever home? He’s sad and did nothing to deserve it. He was so happy in his new home and due to a family emergency, he was sent back to the shelter. Why do we take all of the “difficult” cats? Because they literally need us to. So many cats and kittens are overlooked and rot away in shelter cages because they are scared or seem “spicy”. Many are even released back outside before they even have a chance to unwind and let their guards down. I went to the shelter to pickup one cat and I took 2 adults and these 4 little angels.

This litter had been quarantined for showing a few spots of ringworm but their treatment is finished and they’re all clear! Once you say a cat has ringworm they’ll likely get little to no attention wherever they are. I love when cats and kittens get their ringworm stage over with before coming to us because they seem to never get it again!

Muffin, Bagel, Crumpet, and Scone are gonna be just fine!! They already are making friends and sharing snacks. They’ll be in the Kitten Lounge ready for love!

Oh man. Daisy Dukes on another level with these Churu treats. These cats are getting so smart and actually learning how to hold and squeeze them THEMSELVES!!! They’re taking over the world!!!!!!

I swear you’d think I posed them. Moments like these, and many moments throughout the days here make me question people when say their cats don’t get along 😆 Of the 3000 cats we have had here we have had maybe 5 who really don’t like other cats! In time they really learn to like each other or at the very least, peacefully coexist.

We really love these cats and moments like these ❤️ From left to right:

Cyclone: 10-11 year old boy who has come so far since he was saved from the bathroom he lived in his whole life. He’s a lover boy who would do amazing in a home.

Sonic: 2-3 year old angel who was dumped at a golf course with a bad leg. He had hip surgery and is in the middle of FIP treatment and THRIVING. He does well with everyone on earth and whoever gets him is lucky.

Agave: 10 year old “semi feral” who loves it here. We took her in with a pelvic fracture and she’s doing really well. She doesn’t love human contact but she LOVES to play and run around like a kitten stealing Temptations from her roommates.

Kodak: 10-12 year old ex-feral mob boss. He’s a teddy bear and protects all of his cat buddies when a fight begins. He LOVES head and neck pets but will let you know when he’s done. He’s got loads of stories to tell.

Front and center is Spice. This 3 year old boy has been with us since kittenhood but I’m not sure how we would live without him. He’s everyone’s best friend. Cats naturally know to respect him, it’s really interesting. He has zero bad qualities, he’s a gentle soul who we should probably promote more, as he truly deserves a home. His little buddy Pollyanne would be lost without him so they’re a package deal.

This picture is sad but it was nice to be able to hold a cat who never let me touch her. Blizzard was one of the 4 cats who were found living in a bathroom their whole lives but she was the only one who acted very feral. We had the option to send her to go live at a sanctuary but we kept her. She warmed up and relaxed eventually but touching her was out of the question. She made friends and shared snacks and texted out all the fun beds and cat trees we have. She was happy and loved.

This week she let us pet her…… a lot. And as nice as that was, it was a huge red flag. Sure she was eating and drinking and moving around but the behavior change was alarming.

Blizzard had a vet appointment tomorrow but seeing her this morning, it was clear she needed help now. 🎀Blizzard is a girl and we just found that out!! We had been misgendering her the whole time!!! Blizzard just went to be with her dad and sister Frosty, and all of the other cats who have crossed over the rainbow bridge 🌈 We are thankful that we knew her and got to fill her last chapter with the love she has always deserved, even if she didn’t admit to wanting it. She got a million kisses today and even gave me a small bite as a departure gift. Good girl ❤️

Rest easy princess.

This trio is so cute because I find them in the litter box, under things, hiding in the strangest spots but the second I find them and give them love, they’re heavenly angels!!! Everyday we have to locate them and move them to cozy spots and they’re so happy and appreciative. They’re like the new kids in class mid school year and everyone’s already super cliquey.

Sophie, Queen, and Swiss are stocky 6 month olds that are past the scary tiny kitten stage and would thrive in forever homes. They’re perfect and amazing and you can find them in the Kitten Lounge 🩷

Poe’s got a luxating patella that won’t go back in and Emily is on her 2nd week of FIP treatment but that doesn’t take away from the unconditional love they continue to show each other. They’re brother and sister who came to us scared, but that chapter is pretty much behind them. They’re sweet 8 month old angels who will complete the right family when that time comes. They’ll both get over their hurdles and be better than ever before. As much as they branch out and make new friends, both of their lives would be happier with each other in it.

We are partnered with a rescue that takes cats directly from kill shelters, the streets, and poor living environments, so all of the cats in the cafe are truly given a second chance. We do NOT take in cats, we are partnered with a Rescue, Thank you for understanding!
